Verify Classification and Pre-Import Requirements
Ask the importer or broker to confirm entry eligibility and the food safety, plant-health, testing, and document requirements for the actual dried product, origin, processing, and intended use. Review Each Onward Entry or Transit Step
Have the relevant brokers identify transit, entry, customer, and document requirements along the proposed lawful route. An original document must not be assumed to be transferable or acceptable at a later border.
Identify the Buyer and Handover Responsibilities
Identify the contracting customer, importer, consignee, and responsible handler at each stage. Agree ownership and commercial responsibilities explicitly rather than inferring them from the port or the location of a trading intermediary.
Separate Schedule Milestones From Guarantees
Request the actual loading point, discharge or handover location, transfer points, and estimated timing for the proposed service. The forwarder must confirm availability and current routing; this page does not promise a sailing or a delivered date. Distinguish production, carrier, clearance, and final-delivery milestones and the party able to confirm each.
Assess Packing for the Full Journey
Agree the liner, outer pack, storage instructions, sampling basis, moisture limit, and assessment point against the proposed route and handling. A packing choice does not guarantee shelf life or arrival condition. Describe the actual truck or rail handling and transfers; do not assume every road leg is harsher or that one packing method guarantees protection.
