Compare larger-piece inputs at your processing line. The useful question is what the operator receives and prepares, not whether the offer carries a "premium" label.
Include Preparation in the Comparison
Ask the processor to record the useful input, the oversized pieces that need extra work, and the fragments it cannot use. Compare offers on those observations as well as on weight and price. A larger rhizome does not always give a better finished result.
Use a retained input sample when discussing a discrepancy. A powder specification created after milling is not, by itself, an acceptance standard for the incoming whole or chunk mixture.
Before scaling the trial, note whether the laboratory or development mill accepts the same input as the production equipment. Record any difference in pre-breaking, screening, and feeding. Do not transfer a small-trial result without review. Ask the operator which received-material checks are repeated when the first commercial lot arrives at the plant.
Keep the Review at the Correct Product Stage

Provide the useful piece dimensions and the first machine or preparation step.
Record sorting and extra cutting in the trial. One small sample does not establish a guaranteed yield.
Specify the requested analyses and the identification for the received material, separately from finished-output tests.
State the bag weight, the unloading method, and the sampling access at the German receiving location.

Can a Finished-Powder Specification Define Incoming Chunks?
No. It explains the objective but does not replace input limits. Agree the piece range, the condition, and the preparation needs for the material received.
Does a Larger Piece Guarantee Better Yield?
No. Test the actual material in the actual process. Yield or potency guarantees need test results, and a format name is not a test result.
