Destination brief · whole & chunk
Whole and Chunk Dried Galangal for Buyers in Hong Kong
A larger-piece trading order needs input from the downstream processor. Agree whole appearance or functional chunk size before a price comparison becomes a purchase decision.
Ask What the Downstream Customer Will Accept
If the material will be milled, ask for the useful input range and any pre-cutting needed. If it is resold as visible whole pieces, agree appearance and the permitted broken-piece share with that customer. One chunk specification cannot answer both inquiries without review.
When an order is divided among customers, keep the original lot and pack references. This keeps different acceptance decisions separate.
For an order serving several processors, compare their useful piece ranges before combining quantities. If one receiver needs a different mixture, write a separate specification and ask whether it can be supplied. Keep that distinction in the allocation instructions. The first customer's approval does not cover material delivered to every other receiver.
Keep Trader Status Separate From Product Status
The CFS registration guidance concerns Hong Kong food importers and distributors. The trading business reviews those arrangements. The processor decides physical acceptance. The relevant adviser checks any later destination.
