Whole and Chunk Dried Galangal for Buyers in Malaysia

Choose larger dried pieces when your receiver has a defined preparation step. Confirm the equipment, the labor, and the piece range before agreeing the commercial lot.

Account for the First Handling Step

Identify who opens, sorts, and prepares the bags before the material reaches the machine. A receiver that pre-cuts by hand needs a different trial from a line that accepts larger pieces directly. Record this work. Do not judge the offer from a bag photo alone.

Decide whether whole appearance has value for your customer or whether useful chunks are the objective. Write the accepted broken-piece share and fines into the purchasing brief, so inspection is not based on an unwritten expectation.

If preparation and milling happen at different premises in Malaysia, identify who checks the incoming pieces and who records the usable input after cutting. Carry the original lot reference between those steps. You can then separate a received-material issue from a handling change made after delivery. Responsibility is assigned only after the records are reviewed.

Keep Raw Material and Finished Food Separate

The MOH commercial import guidance is a starting point for your importer and forwarding agent. Have them review the dried pieces that will arrive and the intended use. The processor separately defines the seasoning or other food it will make.

Questions Before Ordering

Can We Order Chunk Without Defining Pre-Cutting?

Discuss your receiver's process first. Oversized pieces add unplanned work if no preparation step has been agreed.

Does the Raw-Material Offer Cover a Finished Seasoning?

No. This inquiry concerns dried galangal pieces. A finished seasoning has its own formulation, processing, and specification.
